My name is Alex Staniloff and I am a photographer, director and avid fan of author Haruki Murakami, for whom your society is hosting the upcoming Murakami Mixtape event. My central discipline of photography is in food and beverage and I am producing a photoshoot this month where we will professionally style and capture dishes from five of Mr. Murakmai’s novels.

Below, you’ll find some pre-production documents, including mood boards, lighting diagrams and outlines. We will also be capturing motion, in addition to still photography. The shoot is scheduled for November 22 and the images will be edited and made ready one week later, following the Thanksgiving holiday.

It would be an honor to collaborate with your society in print and digitally with this small collection of images. It is clear from specificity of his writing about food, that Mr. Murakami may be interested in this imagery and I would be happy to provide prints and stands to display these pieces in the lobby of the venue for the event. I am also aware that your society curates gallery showings as well, so perhaps, these may also align with your curations at a future showing.  Lastly, I would be happy to send over digital copies of the images and motion files in to share them online in advance of the event as promotion.
