This creative shoot came about as an attempt to recreate scenes from the novels Hiraku Murakami in which food is depicted. The food was styled by Judy Haubert and the props were styled by Marina Malchin. The project was photographed at Shio Studios in Brooklyn. With the generous support and encouragement of Japan Society, the photos were exhibited during the Murakami Mixtape event, at the historical Town Hall venue, in which Murakami himself was given an award and prepared readings from his works with a full jazz ensemble.
