Shaw-Nae's House

Shawn-Nae’s House, in Staten Island, serves up soul food with a ton of soul. Their chicken wings are coated in marshmallow fluff and their fish is deep fried whole. The home cooking vibe permeates its atmosphere which feels like a knickknack filled living room.

Visa x Bobby Flay

Certain Visa credit card holders won a contest that would include a trip to NYC and a myriad of treats, including an in-kitchen demonstration and meal prepared for and served by celebrity chef Bobby Flay. Here are some images from the evening.

Tatiana Nike Lincoln Center Event

Back in October, Nike hosted the World Basketball Festival at Lincoln Center, home to Tatiana, a restaurant named the best in NYC in 2023 by the New York Times. Kwame Onwuachi, the restaurant’s chef and proprietor teamed with catering masters CxRA to provide a dinner for the opening of the festival with the lovely backdrop of the Lincoln Center plaza.

Eli's Table

Eater ran a piece on the re-opening of Eli’s Table, from Eli Zabar of the famed uptown markets, and I shot the space, the food and the man himself, which are below.

Department of Culture

As part of Eater’s Best New Restaurants of 2022, I photographed Department of Culture, a Nigerian restaurant in Bed-Stuy. Although the staff was super helpful, the shoot was quite difficult as the space is quite small and the shoot happened during service. I was forced to rely on a single light source without any diffusion and my abilities to position the food and lighting where I could shoot both still life and the atmosphere (real life) in quick succession.
